These are the Oatley RSL Gymsports codes of conduct
Date of issue: September 2007
Review date: September 2008
We will create pathways for athletes to participate not just as a participant
but
also as a coach, judge, official etc
We will ensure quality supervision and instruction, to suit the age, ability
and
maturity level of athletes
We will remember that athletes participate for their enjoyment and benefit. We
will not over emphasise awards
We will help coaches and officials highlight appropriate behaviour and skill
development, and help to improve the standards of coaching and officiating
We will provide opportunities for coaches and officials to participate in
professional development workshops and courses.
We will ensure that everyone involved in Gymsports emphasises fair play, and
not
winning at all costs
We will distribute a code of conduct to athletes, coaches, officials and
parents
and encourage them to follow it
We will not allow the unlawful supply of alcohol at training, competition
events
or club functions
We will discourage the use of bad language, nor will we harass athletes,
coaches,
officials or spectators
We will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the
activity, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural background
We will promote adherence to anti-doping policies.
In addition to Gymnastics NSW General Code of Behaviour, you must meet the

economic status and other conditions.
5. Encourage and facilitate gymnasts’ independence and responsibility for
their own behaviour, performance, decisions and actions.
6. Involve gymnasts in decisions that affect them.

their worth as individuals regardless of their level of participation.

experience, ability, and physical and psychological conditions of the
gymnasts.
9. Ensure any physical contact with gymnasts is appropriate to the
situation and necessary for the gymnast’s skill development.

gymnasts in the coaching relationship and avoid any sexual intimacy
with gymnasts that could develop as a result.
11. Avoid situations with your gymnasts that could be construed as
compromising.
12. Actively discourage the use of performance enhancing drugs, and the
use of alcohol, tobacco and illegal substances.

or business interests at the expense of the best interest of your
gymnasts.
